Ted Paling Legacy Fund

Ted Paling

The Ted Paling Legacy Fund was established in 2024 to honour the memory of Ted Paling, a beloved husband, father and friend. Ted passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2024.

Ted always looked out for the “little guy” and was an ardent supporter of vulnerable people in his community. While raising three daughters as a stay-at-home dad, he volunteered with many organizations across the region, always choosing to work with those most at-risk.

Ted volunteered at a high school, tutoring students who had failed their literacy tests and were at risk of doing so again. He volunteered with a literacy group tutoring young adults who had already left school. Ted counselled minors who had been arrested and were in the correctional system. He mediated disputes at a community justice initiative. Ted devoted time and energy in service of a local food bank, also serving on their board. More recently, Ted worked with an organization that helped Ukrainian refugees find jobs and housing. At the time of his death, Ted was about to start driving for a charity to deliver food to vulnerable school children.

In celebration of Ted’s life, this fund will carry on his concern for children, youth and other vulnerable populations.
