Elizabeth Heald

Elizabeth is accountable for working with the board of directors, committees and teams to oversee KWCF to further the vision of “Making it easy for people to do more good”. She has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the organization and collaborating with our donors, professional advisor partners and fund holders. In addition, Elizabeth is a member of numerous community-wide committees and initiatives focusing on identifying and meeting the current and future needs of Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas. She is the primary contact if individuals, companies or organizations would like to inquire about the Foundation's ability to help with your philanthropic plans, and about the Foundation’s impact investment strategy or potential impact investment projects.

Lynne Short
Vice President

Lynne is responsible for the overall granting, donor relations and volunteer engagement strategies and programs. She also leads KWCF’s brand, marketing and communications strategies and initiatives, focusing on sharing what the Foundation is involved with in the community – and how individuals, companies and organizations can participate. Lynne provides assistance to all of the Grants Committees of KWCF. Any media, advertising, speaking engagement, sponsorship or marketing inquiries should be directed to Lynne.

John Bowden
Director Financial Services

As Director, Financial Services, John is accountable for the accounting, investment, administration, risk management and privacy functions of the organization. This includes financial reporting, disbursement, donation and gift acceptance, investment, and administrative activities. John assists the Audit Committee, Social Finance Committee and Investment Committees of the Board as well as the Due Diligence Committee. Sarah Witmer
Granting & Donor Relations Specialist

Sarah leads the day-to-day operations of KWCF’s grant making, which includes developing, implementing and overseeing all granting processes. It also includes active interaction with all Grant Committee members and partner charities. Sarah is the core staff advisor to all Grants Committees. In addition, Sarah is accountable for supporting our current fundholders and ensuring their connection to KWCF suits their individual needs, including their annual granting from donor advised funds. She is focused on connecting people who care to causes that matter. Sarah is your primary contact if you have granting inquiries or questions about your fund with the KWCF.

As the Financial Coordinator at KWCF, Linda is responsible for the processing of accounts payable and receiving, along with grant payments, as well as for processing and receipting donations. If you have a question about making a donation or about a tax receipt, contact Linda.

Mackenzie Ainlay
Executive Assistant

As the Executive Assistant for KWCF, Mackenzie’s primary focus is assisting Elizabeth and providing support to the KWCF Board of Directors and Leadership Identification Committee. She is responsible for managing IT and building management support at KWCF, and working with external vendors for all supporting systems and tools. She also monitors and implements processes to ensure the Foundation is compliant with legislated and charitable sector standards. In addition, Mackenzie supports projects working with Professional Advisors, and other special projects undertaken by KWCF. Rochelle Benoit
Marketing & Design Specialist

Rochelle is responsible for the design and marketing components of the Foundation’s activities. She coordinates KWCF’s social media and mobile activities, manages the website, films and edits video, produces and coordinates online and offline advertising and designs all marketing collateral. Rochelle also handles the day to day management of external marketing vendors. In addition, she leads the logistics management of KWCF community events. Logo, recognition, marketing collateral or event management questions should be directed to Rochelle.

Michael O’Rourke
Marketing Administrative Assistant

As the Marketing Administrative Assistant at KWCF, Michael supports projects in the areas of Marketing, Granting and Administration. He is responsible for producing monthly analytic reports, updating the website as well as designing graphics for social media and other marketing initiatives. He also helps coordinate the sending of grant cheques and assists with day to day office administration and events. General questions can be directed to Michael.

Mritunjay (MJ) Sinha
Consultant

As a Consultant for KWCF, MJ advises and supports the organization on its impact investments strategy. He brings to the Foundation a wealth of experience as both a social entrepreneur-operator and an investor. MJ helped build a multi-million dollar micro-loan portfolio in rural India and worked with women entrepreneurs helping create a co-operative of over 200 members. For the last few years, MJ has been working with impact investors. He supported the team at Grand Challenges Canada – Canada’s leading impact investor. Thereafter, he has been working with individual and institutional asset owners and asset managers helping, advising, and supporting them on their impact investment journey. MJ’s passion for social change is complemented by his corporate experience in Capital Markets and Corporate Strategy.
