Last spring, The KWCF launched a new philanthropic tool to help connect donors to community needs. Vital Ideas has taken the work of Waterloo Region's Vital Signs one step further by indentifying initiatives dealing with the root causes of issues facing individuals in our community.
A recent evaluation has shown that non-profit organizations have really embraced this publication. Some have used Vital Ideas to educate their board, staff, and donors, while others used the report to leverage funding from other funders and corporate sponsors.
The hard copy publication is just the beginning. In the coming year an online version of Vital Ideas will emerge. At the click of the mouse, donors will be able to search out initiatives doing good work in the quality of life areas outlined in Waterloo Region's Vital Signs. We'll include stories, pictures, videos, financials, board listings etc. - everything needed to make an informed charitable giving decision. And, non-profit organizations will be able to keep their stories fresh and up-to-date.
"Vital Ideas will give a voice to the many diverse, innovative, and successful endeavours building capacity in our community," shares Rosemary Smith, CEO of The KWCF.
