National Volunteer Week

It’s National Volunteer Week, and we’re celebrating the #VolunteerFactor with Volunteer Canada.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?”

At KWCF, our dedicated volunteers answer that question on a daily basis as they work to lift up our community. Together we are enabling people, companies and organizations to Do More Good.

This week we want to take the opportunity to recognize the individuals who are currently sharing their time, skills, experience and passion with us. One of these individuals, Kourtney Beckman, a member of the Youth in Recreation Committee, was kind enough to share her thoughts on the benefits of volunteering with KWCF.

“I volunteer with KWCF because I know that the work we do together impacts people in our neighbourhoods, our region and our lives. We are able to see change and impact first hand and are able to make a real human connection with the region,” says Kourtney. “During my time volunteering with KWCF I have met dedicated, smart and engaged people who influence my life daily. I have had the incredible opportunity to experience our region through the eyes, voices and experiences of others, which makes me feel connected and appreciated for the small part I play the development of our shared belonging in the region.”
