KWCF Update - August 2019

Learning Journeys

Since we introduced them 3 years ago, Learning Journeys have become a regular part of our granting process. They provide educational opportunities for our granting committee members and our Fundholders, while allowing our charitable partners to showcase projects and programs that have received funding through our grant streams. It's a chance to experience impact first hand.

Over the summer, staff arranged Learning Journeys at several charitable organizations that received funding from our Spring Community Grants and Kids to Camp grant streams, including those featured in the images below:

You can read a story about Laurier’s Mama Aki: Mother Earth Science Camp, the site of one of these recent visits, on our website.

We will continue to look for learning opportunities for 2019 and 2020. If you are interested in learning more about our Learning Journeys, email Sarah at sarah@kwcf.ca

Participate in, or host an On the Table conversation!

We are excited to share that there are over 30 On the Table conversations happening across Waterloo Region between September 27th and 29th, and there is still time to participate!

If you want to host a conversation, you can register at www.kwcf.ca/onthetable. If you are interested in participating in On the Table Waterloo Region but don't want to host yourself, visit our Calendar of Upcoming Conversations to view the list of public conversations you can join.

Let’s get together with friends, neighbours, colleagues and others you haven’t met yet to discuss what matters in our community!

Are you ready to hear the next great idea for social good in Waterloo Region – and help it happen?

Here’s your chance to attend Social Venture Partners Waterloo Region’s Perfect Pitch. On November 5, seven charities have 3 minutes each to pitch a project or service that helps our community thrive. At the end of the night, vote for the pitch of your choice; all proceeds from your ticket will help make their pitch a reality.

For tickets & info, please visit: https://www.socialventurepartners.org/waterloo-region/perfect-pitch/
