Special Announcement: Lynne Short to join The KWCF team

Dear Colleagues and Partners,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Lynne Short as Vice President at The Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation.

Lynne is a distinguished leader and mentor in Waterloo Region, having served in many senior and executive leadership roles in the insurance industry over the past 27 years, with a particular focus on Marketing, Corporate Communications, Community Relations and Public Affairs. For the past six years, Lynne has served as the Director, Communications and Community Relations for Princeton Holdings Limited, a holding company that has several subsidiaries, including Cowan Insurance Group. She spent the eight years prior to that as the Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Communications for Cowan.

Lynne is very familiar with The KWCF, having served on our Board of Directors from 2011-2015, and previously was a Chair of our Marketing Committee. She has been a tireless advocate for this community for many years, volunteering on the Board of Directors and Committees for a diverse collection of local organizations, including the Food Bank of Waterloo Region, Conestoga College School of Media and Design, United Way of Kitchener and Waterloo, and the Creative Enterprise Initiative. Lynne has also spent a great deal of her life serving as a frontline volunteer for several organizations in both Waterloo Region and Ottawa.

Lynne holds a Masters of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa. She has lived in Kitchener for approximately 20 years with her husband and two children.

Lynne's hiring aligns with our vision for a new innovative focus. She will join myself and the team as we continue to connect with our key stakeholders, develop and implement tactics to achieve our strategic focus to make it easier for people to "do more good". Lynne will begin her term as Vice President of The Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation on January 15, 2018.

Please join me in congratulating Lynne and welcoming her to The KWCF!

Thank you.
