My name is Yvonne Winchur and I was a RAK Kindness Krew member for CARP (KW and Area Chapter) for RAK Day on Friday, November 4th.
As my team and I were driving to our destination distribution spot, one of our team members, Nancy Finkle looked at her watch, noticed it was 8:30 and excused herself to make a phone call.
Since we were all in the same car we could not help but overhear her conversation. When she was finished she explained that she was calling a lady who is almost 99 years old, still lives on her own and has no family living close by. Nancy calls her everyday at the same time to check that she had a good sleep, to tell her what day it is and what the weather will be like for the day. On Sundays she calls at 7:30am to get her up earlier so she can get ready to go to church.
We were all so taken with this everyday RAK but Nancy just passed it off as if it was nothing. It's obvious Random Act of Kindness Day is every day in Nancy's world.
