GRANTING

Granting Resources

We know that applying for a grant is not always easy. We want to make sure you have all the information you need. Whether you have questions about the application, timelines, fiscal sponsorship or the final evaluation, we have developed this resource page to help you navigate the process.

Our video series is another tool we’ve designed to help answer your questions about applying for a KWCF Grant.

Target Areas of Focus

This year, we will focus our granting on the 3 key priorities identified through Wellbeing Waterloo Region.

1. Affordable Housing – where everyone has a place to call home

2. Healthy Children & Youth – where all children and youth have the foundation they need to thrive and reach their potential

3. Social Inclusion – where everyone is welcome and can belong

KWCF’s Community Grants Program will be accepting applications that deal with these priority areas.

UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

In 2015, the United Nation member countries, including Canada, agreed to focus on 17 UN SDGs . The targets for the SDGs seek to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by promoting inclusive, equitable, safe and sustainable societies. In 2019, KWCF is asking charities to indicate which of the 17 SDGs their grant request aligns with. This is a new piece of data we are gathering to connect our local impact to goals on both a national and global scale.

Here are a few resources to help you learn more about the SDGs:

Grant Video Series

We know that applying for a grant isn't always easy.

In 2018, we replaced our Grant Information Session with a Grant Video Series. Rather than attending a day session, we created a series of videos to answer your most burning questions about applying for a KWCF grant. We're happy to say we've heard great feedback from our grantees, and will continue to provide granting information in this format.

Whether you have questions about the application, timelines, fiscal sponsorship or the final evaluation, we hope our videos will help.

The best part is that these videos will be hosted right here, and will be available 24/7.
