Commit to your community. Make a lasting difference for tomorrow... today.

Have you ever thought about getting more involved in our community?
Perhaps you're not quite sure how to get started, or in what areas our region would benefit the most from your help?

Spanning seven 3-hour sessions (one a month), participants take part in facilitated group discussion on a variety of topics from the principals of philanthropy and non-profit board governance, to personal values and beyond.

Engage!KW links these group discussions and exercises together with guest speakers through the lens of the needs of our region (via Waterloo Region's Vital Signs). The program culminates in a two-month case study, where participants are tasked with solving real-world problems being faced by actual community organizations in Waterloo Region.

  • Are finished school and want to spend some free time doing awesome things for your community
  • Have some extra-curricular experience (such as volunteering, athletics, arts, etc)
  • Want to learn more about Waterloo Region's non-profits and charitable organizations
  • Want to build confidence, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Can commit to one session a month to do all these great things?

... then apply to be a part of the class of 2016 today!

The 2015-2016 program is accepting applications until August 16th, 2015, with selections being made in September. Sessions run in the afternoon on the 2nd Thursday of each month between October 2015 and April 2016 in Downtown Kitchener.
