Kitchener Waterloo Community Foundation (KWCF) enables people, companies, and organizations to do more good. We connect people who care to causes that matter. We do this by making it easy for Donors and Fundholders to give and for charities to receive money.
When you make a donation to KWCF, we invest that gift into a permanent endowment fund which generates income that is then distributed through grants and impact investments to support a broad range of charitable causes within our community.
We accept a wide variety of gifts and provide Donors with a number of charitable options. You can contribute cash, stocks, property, and other assets. You may establish a fund in your name, or in the name of a loved one. In addition, when you establish a fund, you have the choice to have your fund’s capital aligned with KWCF’s general investment pool or KWCF’s impact investment pool.
Today, the Foundation holds over $100 Million in total assets under management. In 2018, KWCF approved grants of over $3.1 Million to local charities and non-profits. Since its inception, KWCF has granted more than $47 Million to local charities and non-profits throughout Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas.
As a leading community-building organization in Waterloo Region, we are focused on collaborating with partners to identify and meet current and future needs of our community, by enabling social capital and developing creative, forward-thinking, innovative solutions for place-based philanthropy.
