Connecting Philanthropists to Community Needs

Identifying projects that improve quality of life in our community and supporting those initiatives is high on the list of priorities for The Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation (KWCF).

Our newest publication, Vital Ideas, is a tool designed to connect donors and philanthropists to community needs and educate them about funding opportunities.  Meant as a companion publication to Waterloo Region's Vital Signs, Vital Ideas highlights the important work being done by many charities in Kitchener, Waterloo and area; work that is making a real difference in our community.

The programs and organizations profiled in this report align with the learnings from Waterloo Region's Vital Signs and are dealing with the root causes of various different issues being faced by individuals in our community.  They are providing unique and innovative approaches to improving quality of life.

This list is only a start.  It is important to note that these projects are not exclusive to Vital Ideas.  The KWCF has existing partnerships with these organizations and are already familiar with their work. We understand that there are many diverse, inventive, and successful endeavours building capacity in our community each and every day.

The work of the featured talented organizations and the positive impact their programs and initiatives bring about is what truly makes our community the vital, creative, innovative place that it is.  We encourage you to learn more about them and get involved - whether it is with your treasure, or time and talent.  By working together and tackling issues where they begin, you can make our community an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.
